Summary

Pupils enter Nursery and Reception classes well below national averages. (see IDACI analysis )

September ‘15 starters in Nursery all came in below ARE at 22-36 months.

Attainment on entry to Reception is below average with only 40% of pupils at ARE – Age Related Expectations (Wellcomm data 2015)

100% of pupils made at least expected progress in all areas of EYFS with the exception of 1 SEN pupil in Speaking and Reading, 2 pupils in writing ( SEN, EAL ) and 1 pupil in Number (SEN ) – see O track data. 

 

Key Stage 1 

Year 1 Phonics Screening, following good quality first teaching and specifically targeted interventions 76% are at national expectations, Sandwell  80%, National 81%. ( Prior school results 2012 : 58%, 2013 : 69%, 2014 :74%, 2015 :66% ). At the end of Y2 88% reached ARE ( 7/9 pupils).
 
KS1 SATS were moderated by the LA this year. Results were as follows:
 
Reading – 38% at ARE ( S = 68%, N = 74%)
Maths – 28% at ARE ( S = 68%, N = 73%)
O track data shows pupils working within ARE at end of Y2: Reading  77%, Writing 47%, Maths 82%

 

Key Stage 2

Historical inadequate teaching has now been eradicated and the current teaching profile across the school is judged to be 100% good.
